7/8 — Mirage, VR, Japan, and a return to Black Flag Mirage — October 5, 2023 Basim’s story goes back to ninth-century Baghdad, before Valhalla. He starts as a street thief and joins the Hidden Ones while trying to understand the visions haunting him. It returns to a smaller, city-focused adventure built around stealth and assassinations. Nexus VR — November 16, 2023 Ezio, Connor, and Kassandra return for new adventures built around first-person VR. In the present, an undercover hacker uses their memories to interfere with Abstergo’s plans. These add to their lives rather than replacing the original games. Shadows — March 20, 2025 Naoe and Yasuke bring two different approaches to late-Sengoku Japan: a shinobi and a samurai. Their stories come together as they confront the forces reshaping their lives. Historically, this sits after Ezio’s lifetime and before the colonial games. Black Flag Resynced — July 9, 2026 Edward’s Caribbean adventure returns as a remake with revised systems and additional content. It belongs here by release date, but its central story is still his pirate years, before Haytham and Connor’s adventures. It isn’t a new sequel in Edward’s life. Shadows’ Claws of Awaji expansion arrived September 16, 2025, continuing the story after the base game. Mirage’s free Valley of Memory update arrived November 18, 2025, taking Basim to AlUla before the main story’s finale. I even went back and replayed parts of Mirage when that update showed up.
