ANDROMEDA: SENTINEL, INFILTRATOR, VANGUARD, AND EXPLORER
SENTINEL
Pros: Combines tech recharge and combo bonuses with extra protection from passive Tech Armor. It also helps with powers that consume shields. Mixing a useful primer, a compatible detonator, and a defensive or utility skill can make a very adaptable three-skill setup.
Cons: This Tech Armor is a passive damage-resistance benefit, not ME2's shield-restoring activation or ME3's manually detonated armor power. The profile's recharge bonus is specifically for tech, so do not expect it to accelerate all biotics equally. Ranking it up requires investment in both tech and biotics.
Choose it if you want to mix tech and biotics while keeping a defensive cushion.
INFILTRATOR
Pros: Weapon accuracy, stability, weak-point damage, and tech recharge bonuses. Battlefield Awareness helps you track enemies through walls while scoped, and Cloak Evades gives a brief cloak when dodging. It supports precise shooting with tech assistance.
Cons: You get more out of the weak-point bonus by actually hitting weak points. The brief evade cloak is not a replacement for the separately equipped Tactical Cloak skill, and seeing an enemy through a wall does not automatically make your gun shoot through it. The profile also does not provide Soldier's general weapon-damage bonus.
Choose it if you want accurate attacks, target awareness, and frequent tech support. It is useful beyond sniper rifles.
VANGUARD
Pros: Melee bonuses, more shields, biotic recharge, and reduced shield costs for relevant powers. Siphoning Strikes restores shields through melee attacks, rewarding a build that stays close and makes use of that recovery.
Cons: Closing on dangerous enemies still carries risk. If you spend the whole encounter at long range, you are leaving several important bonuses unused. Charge is a skill you can select, not an ability automatically granted every time you activate this profile, and other profiles can use it too.
Choose it if you want close-range biotic and melee combat. Build around the recovery tools rather than treating proximity alone as protection.
EXPLORER
Pros: A spread of bonuses across weapon damage, tech recharge, biotic damage, and defense. Biotic Blink gives its evades a distinctive short-range movement option that can pass through some obstacles. It suits a Ryder whose useful abilities come from all three skill groups.
Cons: Investment has to be spread across combat, tech, and biotics to raise the profile's rank. You give up other profiles' specialized benefits, such as Adept's Biotic Echoes or Vanguard's Siphoning Strikes. You still only have three active skills at a time; Explorer does not remove that limit.
Choose it if you want a genuinely mixed build. It is not automatically the best profile simply because it touches all three categories.
