ANDROMEDA: THE CLASS RULES CHANGE AGAIN Andromeda does not lock Ryder into one of six permanent single-player classes. Your starting training determines your initial skills and gives you a corresponding starting profile: Security/Soldier, Biotic/Adept, Technician/Engineer, Leader/Sentinel, Operative/Infiltrator, or Scrapper/Vanguard. Explorer is the seventh profile and is unlocked through investment across all three skill groups, not through a seventh training choice. As you invest points in combat, tech, and biotics, you unlock and rank up profiles. Only one profile is active at a time. A profile supplies bonuses; it does not limit you to a fixed list of weapons or powers. You can use tech skills while an Adept profile is active, for example. You equip three active skills at once and can save four Favorites, each containing a profile and up to three skills. You can switch during combat, but changing Favorites puts the newly equipped skills on cooldown. It is not an instant refill of ready-to-use powers. Ordinary cooldown-based skills recharge individually again. Weapons still have weight, but the important Andromeda penalty is going over your capacity; do not assume it gives the same under-capacity recharge bonus as ME3. With that distinction clear, here is what each profile is good for.
