Metro Exodus achievement guide (4/9) Taiga and Dead City Decommunization — Near Taiga’s beginning, find the large statue outside the children’s camp, near the bridge. Hit the statue with melee until it breaks. You are looking for the big statue, not every small ornament in the area. Master of the Forest — At the first proper bear fight in the church/graveyard area, stay and hurt the bear until it retreats. Do not escape up the rope ladder. Keep moving, use the crossbow and Molotovs, and collect the nearby ammunition. Fighting this animal does not require attacking a human for Forest child. 5 o’clock — After powering the sawmill lift, meet the Admiral upstairs. Accept the chair, stay for his conversation, and play the guitar when the option becomes available. Wait until he falls asleep and the trophy unlocks. Walking into his room and immediately leaving is not enough. Forest child — Finish the WHOLE Taiga chapter without attacking humans or being fully detected by hostile humans. Knockouts also invalidate the no-attack requirement. Do not farm Robin Hood or Saboteur on people during this attempt. Move through the camps at night when possible, put lights out and quicksave before risky sections. The final pirate camp and boat exit deserve particular care: wait until patrols look away before rowing. Animals and the bear fights are not the human no-attack restriction, and scripted encounters/conversations do not automatically ruin the attempt. If an actual enemy spots you, reload a save from before detection rather than hoping the alert disappearing will repair it. This is much more comfortable on a low difficulty than on Ranger Hardcore or Iron Mode. Alyosha — Leave Taiga without Alyosha being wounded. Spare the Pioneers and Pirates and take the peaceful route through their camps. Helping captives is useful for the good-morality route, but do not attack bandits to do a rescue during a Forest child attempt. Forest child is the stricter challenge: Alyosha’s outcome does not itself require a flawless no-detection run. Sword of Damocles — Finish Taiga. Putrification — In Dead City, pass through the flooded, worm-infested tunnel in the boat. This comes along the required route. Guide — Get through Dead City’s research facility without killing any roaming Blind Ones, the huge gorilla-like mutants. Crouch, keep your distance, avoid broken glass and use thrown cans to draw them away from your route. You can escape an encounter rather than fight. The unavoidable scripted struggle at the end does not invalidate this trophy.
