Metro Exodus achievement guide (1/9)
Before starting
Metro Exodus achievement guide. Every base-game achievement/trophy, then New Game+, The Two Colonels and Sam’s Story separately.
The base game has 49 achievements, or 50 trophies on PlayStation because of the Platinum. With all the additions, that becomes 68 achievements or 69 PlayStation trophies. You do not need the DLC or New Game+ trophies for the Platinum.
I’d split the main game into a careful first run and a Ranger Hardcore run. On the first, use Easy or Normal, work through the collectibles and chapter-specific tasks, and aim for the good crew outcomes. Reader is fine for most of that too, but weapon cleaning is free there, so it will not spend the chemicals needed for Tidyman.
Clean up the awkward stealth and combat trophies before moving to Ranger Hardcore. That difficulty has no quicksave, and chapter select will not turn a Ranger Hardcore campaign into an easy cleanup run. You need both endings, so plan the opposite one for the second run.
For the extra NG+ trophies, Iron Mode can be played on Reader. I’d keep that separate from Ranger Hardcore rather than combine the hardest combat with losing an entire chapter when you die. Three main-game runs is a comfortable plan for the complete list, not a requirement to earn the base Platinum.
Important PS5/Series X|S/PC Enhanced warning: ordinary chapter select is useful. The separate “Chapter Unlock” shortcut is different. Using that shortcut disables trophies/achievements for that save slot. Do not use it on your achievement save.
Keep your completed save safe before starting NG+, another campaign or replay cleanup. Use a separate slot or your platform’s supported backup method where available. Do not assume starting something new preserves the exact old campaign state.
SPOILERS FROM HERE: the guide explains chapter events, companion outcomes and both endings. The opening above is the place to stop if you want to discover those yourself.
