Tweedledee and Tweedledum are what brought this question back to me as I started #47. Their identity comes as a pair, which already makes them different from how I’m thinking about the Hatter. You recognize the relationship between the two as well as the individual figures. I’ve encountered them before and seen deaths along the way, so seeing the names again makes me pay attention. How much of what I remember should I bring into this encounter? That uncertainty is part of the effect for me. Wonderland can bring back a familiar pairing and make the history come with it before the new encounter has even played out. I’ll leave this one there while I’m still reading #47.
