A Plague Tale: Innocence's upgrades are worth breaking down separately because this isn't an XP grind where you keep leveling up a skill tree. You find materials and spend them on your gear. The first upgrade tutorial is in Chapter 2. Use a workbench until you get the upgrade that lets you work without one.
For the sling, Strings goes from lethal unprotected headshots at the first level, to getting the sling ready faster at the second, to quieter operation at the third. That last one doesn't mean every consequence of attacking someone becomes invisible.
Pouch speeds up reaching full accuracy, then speeds up reloading, then lets you fire two shots in succession without the usual reload and wind-up between them.
Pocket is your material storage: 12 of each kind, then 16, then 22. Ammunition Bag is separate: 10 of each ammunition type, then 14, then 20.
Attirail first reduces the noise from running and dodging. The second level lets you upgrade away from a workbench. The third removes Tools from the upgrade requirements. You still need the other materials.
So if you're looking at all these names wondering what's actually changing, Pocket is for collecting more supplies, Ammunition Bag is for carrying more ready ammunition, and Attirail makes movement and upgrading more convenient. Strings and Pouch are the sling itself.
For the trophies, finish both sling categories for Not a toy anymore, and all three equipment categories for Handfull of pockets. Every category has three levels.
