All right, so I've talked about the work I've already published. Now I want to go through some of the writing projects I'm working on in different stages, from editing finished manuscripts to things I'm still figuring out.
Memoirs of Death is about 38,000 words, so I consider it more novella-sized than some of the other stuff I write. It's about a little girl who gets possessed by a mythical serial killer and goes on a rampage with her mom.
It's probably one of my favorite pieces. The whole idea came to me in a dream. The story played out in my head from beginning to end, and then it sat as an idea for a long time before I finally wrote it.
This is actually the second version. I didn't like the direction the original draft was going, so I rewrote it to get it closer to that dream. I've done one round of editing, but I've still got at least two or three rounds of revisions before it's ready to consider publishing. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
Then there's the one I'm still calling Zombie Story because I haven't settled on a name. That's a much bigger project. It's a planned six-book series about a family stuck in an apocalyptic situation. Five books deal with different waves of the apocalypse, leading into a sixth reintegration book. I've written book one. Books two through six haven't been written yet.
