This story is part of my Dark Oasis line. It's one of my darker story segments, where I kind of cut loose and go crazy psychotic with the writing. Whatever dark things I can think of for these stories, I write about them without really limiting myself too much.
Description:
He was brilliant once.
A scholar. A prodigy. A man who trusted his own mind more than anything else.
Then came the diagnosis. First dementia. Then paranoia. Then hallucinations. Then the certainty that something was inside his house.
Doors open after being locked. Scratching sounds move beneath the bed. A pale girl appears where no child should be. The shadows answer his fear.
As his journal entries unravel, the question becomes impossible to avoid:
Is his mind collapsing, or has something from Faustmoore followed him home?
Diary Of A Failing Mind is a found-journal psychological horror story from the Faustmoore series, published under the Dark Oasis line of experimental dark fiction.
For adult readers only. Contains mental deterioration, paranoia, hallucinations, supernatural dread, grief, suicidal ideation, disturbing imagery, and mature themes. Reader discretion is strongly advised.
