MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN 2: SKILLS Before getting buried in the menu I wanted to give Spider-Man 2 its own skills breakdown because this is where having two Spider-Men really makes a difference. Peter and Miles share the city, but you don't want to treat their combat abilities as interchangeable. There are 62 skill-tree nodes here: 26 shared, 19 for Peter, and 17 for Miles. Shared purchases work for both characters. The points you spend are one common budget, so buying a Peter upgrade can delay a Miles purchase. You can eventually learn everything; this is about the order that makes the game feel better while you're getting there. The Skills menu becomes usable after “One Thing at a Time.” Buy the connecting nodes before trying to reach something farther down a branch. Some individual powers also need their story introduction, so a purchased prerequisite is not a way around a story lock. Below, “1” or “2” means skill points, not a character level. An arrow means the preceding skill is the route to the next one; where two routes join, either listed route can open that junction. I am separating skill-tree purchases from Suit Tech, gadgets, and story-granted abilities. Those systems work together, but they aren't the same checklist. Story warning: the Peter and Miles sections name later abilities, including the symbiote and Evolved Venom powers. Stop before those sections if you want their introductions unspoiled.
