Defender, the basic timing upgrades 13. Perfect Dodge. Cost: 1. Prerequisite: none. Dodge with Circle when the Spider-Sense indicator turns blue. Peter counters with a web shot and earns extra Focus. Learning that timing is worth more than desperately hammering dodge and hoping for the best. 14. Dodge Window. Cost: 1. Prerequisite: Perfect Dodge. Gives you more room to land the perfect timing. I would get this early, especially if you're still settling into the combat rhythm. It makes the defensive system more forgiving without requiring you to change the way every encounter works. 15. Perfect Hit. Cost: 1. Prerequisite: Perfect Dodge. Timing the next Square press as the current hit connects builds additional Focus. Try to find a rhythm instead of treating the attack button like it owes you money. You can practice this on ordinary enemies before trying it in a crowded base. 16. Combo Booster. Cost: 1. Prerequisite: Perfect Hit. Higher combos give better Focus gains. This rewards clean fighting, so pair it with reliable dodging and target selection. The more often you get hit and lose control of the encounter, the less value you're getting from a combo-focused upgrade. 17. Vengeance. Cost: 1. Prerequisite: Combo Booster. Improves Focus generation from attacks when health is below half. Useful as a recovery aid. I would not intentionally stay almost dead just to keep the benefit active. Use the resources to get the fight back under control.
