I’ve been putting more work into Spirit Nation, and today’s update covers quite a bit.
First, the reader. There was a loading issue that could leave the study tools unavailable or interrupt someone trying to read. That needed to be fixed, and the fixes are now live. I also had the mobile layouts checked again, including the reader, longer articles, and preacher pages. If you’re sitting down to read, the site shouldn’t be getting in your way.
The Codex needed a lot more depth, too. Some of those entries were much shorter than I wanted. All 30 existing articles have been expanded, and nine more have been added. There are now 39 articles covering 16 denominations, 12 belief topics, and 11 Christian-history subjects, with more explanation, historical context, and sources to follow if you want to keep reading.
The sermon collection has grown as well, with 155 additional source-linked entries across the contemporary and historical collections. Charles Spurgeon’s collection is now up to 84 entries. John Wesley and Jonathan Edwards have also been added, with 14 each.
I want Spirit Nation to be something you can actually spend time with. Read a passage, look into the history around a subject, explore a denomination, or find a sermon without everything stopping at a couple of introductory paragraphs. This update gets more of that material in place.
