POST 7 OF 7: FAMILIAR MASKS DON'T GUARANTEE FAMILIAR BONUSES Martin Brown's pig mask belongs to his Pig Butcher role. It doesn't grant Jacket's original Aubrey weapon-spawn modifier. Richter's rat mask also doesn't mean he starts every mission with the silenced Uzi that Jacket gets from the Richter mask in the first game. Those are easy details to mix up when you're remembering both games at once. Sometimes the familiar animal is attached to a different character and a different set of rules. For choosing between the Fans, Corey is the flexible starting point, Tony is the close-range specialist, Alex and Ash combine chainsaw attacks with gun support, and Mark brings a strong but finite opening supply of ammunition. With Jake, the question is whether you want lethal throws, the nail-gun opening, or the close-combat Dallas restriction. The recommendation is to match the character to the part of the mission that is causing trouble. If your problem is an exposed crossing, that isn't the same as being surrounded in a small room. If your problem is an empty gun, a route that depends on another magazine appearing isn't going to work for every character. That's a big part of why the sequel can feel so different even when the basic controls look familiar. It keeps changing the tools you're allowed to rely on. Once you stop expecting every character to solve a room the same way, their individual strengths make a lot more sense. Sources: https://t.co/PCp0xMQpTu https://t.co/qbMB3XHZdX
