POST 3 OF 7: ALEX, ASH, AND MARK
Alex and Ash wear swan masks and function as one playable pair. Alex uses the chainsaw. Ash follows with a gun. You control both attack types, but you aren't independently moving two characters around the map.
The positioning is what takes adjustment. Your gunfire comes from Ash's position, not Alex's. A shot that looks clear from the front of the pair can hit a wall because Ash hasn't made it through the doorway. Give the pair enough room to line up, and remember that Ash can shoot while Alex is in a chainsaw execution. Against large enemies, that extra coverage matters because the execution keeps Alex committed for longer.
Mark wears the bear mask and begins with two MP5s, including reserve ammunition. He can spread his fire in different directions, which is useful when a room threatens him from more than one side. It is also a very easy way to spend ammunition on space that no longer contains an enemy.
Once that supply is exhausted, he switches back to using other weapons normally. Plan for that transition. The opening firepower can solve a difficult room, but the rest of the floor still needs a route. His size and appearance don't give you permission to absorb bullets.
