8/14 — Children of Morta: Skills & Family Progression
7. JOEY — THE PERSONAL TREE
T0
• Forceful Evasion: landing damage on his evade.
• Vengeance: taking damage strengthens the next primary hit.
T4
• Smite: frontal ground smash.
• Guardian's Rage: contact damage while empowered.
T8
• Iron Will: low-health movement/damage bonuses.
• Whirlwind: surrounding attack fueled through combat.
T14
• The More the Merrier: extra damage when crowded.
• Divine Smite: upgrades the smash with a traveling energy wave.
• Rage Globe: health globes also build Rage.
T20
• Nimble Wind: improves Whirlwind mobility.
• Unstoppable Force: nearby attackers can be stunned when they hit him.
My priority: use broad damage without confusing broad damage with invulnerability. Smite and Whirlwind give you ways to handle groups; movement support and shared defensive traits help you survive long enough to use them.
Vengeance and Iron Will are compensation for a bad situation, not a reason to manufacture one. If your entire plan only works while nearly dead, it is fragile before the boss even starts. Take the extra damage when circumstances trigger it; do not throw away health just to see the buff light up.
