Divine Relics are the active tools you use; Divine Graces supply passive effects. Trials gives Relics and Graces additional upgrade tiers. Read the upgraded effect, because an upgrade can add a useful property rather than simply making the original number bigger. Gemshards are your spending currency. Before gambling, look at the guaranteed purchases and upgrades. If the shop can solve the thing currently ending your runs, spending everything on a chance at something flashier may be a poor trade. A few named examples make the decisions easier to understand: • Lifelong Pal is a healing companion. Trials players repeatedly recommend it for keeping a damage-focused build alive. Some report especially strong healing and shielding from upgraded versions. Treat those reports as a reason to inspect the item, not a promise of invulnerability or an exact proc formula. • Spare Time resets ability cooldowns and fills rage. Its value depends on having useful abilities to reset and a good moment to use them. Spending a reset while everything is already available wastes much of the opportunity. Use your important tools, then consider whether a reset creates another safe damage or protection window. • Spoon of Mol Sli'Got gives a chance to recover health while attacking. That makes it worth checking for a build that can maintain attacks safely. It still requires surviving the incoming damage. Recovery after an attack won't help if the attack you chose to stand through ends the run first. The broader choice is between preventing damage, recovering from it, and killing the threat before it can keep attacking. A build usually needs some combination of those rather than a single impressive damage statistic. Don't automatically discard a control or defensive tool because another item adds damage. If slowing a group lets you attack without taking three hits, it may be doing more for your clear than the extra damage would.
