Apan is a good example of why tier lists need context. A 2024 player discussion praises her mid-range area damage, recovery, and reliability in developed builds. The same discussion includes a player who finds her difficult in Trials. Earlier discussions complain that Glyph takes too much commitment. Those are player experiences, not a settled ranking. Player discussion: https://t.co/k7VA7Z0liZ Some players also report using her attacks through walls. I'm not making that the foundation of the strategy. Terrain interactions can be inconsistent, and a guide shouldn't require an unverified interaction to make a character viable. The broader useful lesson is to pay attention to how terrain limits an enemy's approach. In Family Trials, do not copy a campaign skill tree or assume Story family bonuses follow you unchanged. Trials supplies its own talent choices and run-based build. Evaluate the effects you've actually obtained, particularly the difference between a base ability and the upgrade that adds the behavior a community guide is praising. A promising defensive setup still needs enough damage to finish encounters before mistakes accumulate. An offensive setup still needs a response when enemies get through the control. If every new choice goes into the same strength, notice whether the neglected weakness is what keeps ending runs. The repeated mistakes are standing too close for no benefit, knocking enemies away from a teammate's prepared attacks, treating Glyph as a free stationary damage zone, and assuming every healing-related effect heals everybody. Use the reach, control the approach, and choose when to commit. Apan's strongest idea is giving the fight a pace you can manage. The build then needs to support that plan instead of asking her to behave like a completely different character.
