Apan's Guardian's Rage shields herself and nearby Bergsons. Her update also introduced wider shield mechanics and healing-related benefits. A temporary shield and actual health recovery are different things, though, and the distinction matters when choosing how aggressively to play. A shield is a damage buffer with limits. If you use it to create a window for an attack, remember that window can end before the encounter does. Watch the protection rather than assuming its presence at the start makes the whole exchange safe. Healing Glyph is the upgrade discussed by players who use her to recover between encounters. Importantly, that self-healing behavior should not be described as a general area heal for teammates. A co-op partner standing nearby shouldn't expect it to function like a healer's group spell in another RPG. That gives a practical reason to separate fighting and recovery. If you can safely recover after a group is dealt with, you don't necessarily need to force the healing opportunity while multiple threats are still attacking. Check what your equipped upgrade does rather than assuming the base version already provides that recovery. When building, ask what is actually costing you health. If it's losing control of crowded rooms, improve the tools that make those rooms manageable. If you're getting hit by attacks from outside the area you're controlling, the answer may be positioning rather than another upgrade to the same area spell.
