Against a boss, think in safe attack windows. Move through the dangerous part of the pattern, punish the recovery, and leave before the next attack catches you committed to a swing. One solid hit that doesn't cost health is more sustainable than forcing several hits and repeatedly needing a recovery item. If the boss moves away, avoid spending all your movement just to arrive as its next attack starts. Let the pattern finish when necessary. Melee characters can lose more by chasing badly than by allowing a short gap in damage. In co-op, Joey can work beside a ranged character who benefits from enemies gathering in a predictable place. The coordination matters more than calling him “the tank.” Standing nearby doesn't guarantee that every enemy will target him, and his health bar isn't an unlimited resource for the other player to spend. A control-focused partner can also help him commit to heavy attacks more safely. If an enemy has just been slowed or held in place, use the opening. Don't immediately scatter a group away from the area your partner has prepared unless escaping danger is more important. For solo play, be more selective about which groups to engage together. You're handling ranged threats, melee pressure, and recovery without a partner covering the blind spots. Clear the threats that prevent safe hammer attacks rather than concentrating only on whichever enemy has the largest health bar.
