For Story, evaluate Kevin's next improvement against the problem you're experiencing. If you can reach enemies but can't finish an opening before taking damage, more offensive output may help. If you're taking hits while approaching, a damage improvement won't fix the route you chose. If you keep forgetting an unlocked ability, practice using it before deciding the character lacks options. For a starting Story priority, develop Frenzy if regular dagger attacks are your main source of damage, then make room for Shadow Cloak as it becomes available. Try a cloak-and-Execute approach against a target you can isolate, or use Shadow Dance when the multi-target follow-up fits the encounter. If groups are the main difficulty, experiment with Fan of Knives instead of spending every improvement on a single-target plan. This is a way to choose a direction from his kit, not a fixed point-by-point prescription. His family development contributes critical-damage benefits to the wider roster. That's another reason to give him some attention even when you're more comfortable with somebody else. Story progression rewards thinking about the family as well as the current character. For run pickups, primary-attack support has an obvious connection to how often Kevin attacks. Recovery or protection can address the danger of remaining close. A modifier to a skill you rarely use needs a closer look: will you change your approach to use it, or is it just an impressive description occupying space in the plan? In co-op, another character's control can help him enter safely. A stunned group gives him a chance to attack, but both players should notice when the control ends. Don't keep swinging because the enemies were stunned a moment ago. A partner drawing attention can also help with positioning, although it doesn't guarantee Kevin will be ignored. A practical division of work might be one player controlling a pack while Kevin removes a nearby priority threat. Keep the targets close enough that you can still assist each other. Splitting across the room can create two difficult solo fights instead of one coordinated encounter.
