Children of Morta Character Profile: Kevin
Kevin is one of the younger Bergsons, close to his older brother Mark, and the family's fast dagger fighter. His role sounds simple: get close and attack quickly. The difficult part is doing that without allowing everything else in the room to attack you at the same time.
I'm combining his mechanics with player strategies here, including places where people disagree. These are options to learn from, not a claim that I've personally run every setup or that one player's favorite character must be yours.
His Frenzy mechanic increases attack speed, so maintaining an opportunity to attack becomes important. That creates a temptation to stay close longer than the fight allows. If keeping your momentum means accepting several hits, the trade can become expensive very quickly.
A useful opening habit is to choose a small part of the fight rather than charge into the middle of all of it. Look for the enemy on the edge of a group. Attack while the space is manageable. If another threat moves around your side, change your position before you have enemies in every direction.
This is why a rough first run doesn't tell you everything about Kevin. A new character's available skills, your shared Story development, and your familiarity with enemy attacks all affect the experience. He can feel very different once you understand which openings actually last long enough for his daggers to do their work.
