SCP-159: The Perfect Lock Object Class: Safe SCP-159 looks like an ordinary neon OPEN sign. Display it through a building's window, then unplug it while it's powered on, and nobody outside can enter the building. Turning it off with the switch first won't work. Neither will unplugging it during a power outage. Reconnecting it to an outlet ends the effect. While active, it protects the structure against outside damage. Tests include artillery, explosives, extreme heat, radiation, tunneling, and vehicle impacts. Even opening a door or window doesn't create a way through the barrier. People inside can leave whenever they want, but they can't come back in while the protection remains active. Utilities continue entering, with foreign substances filtered from incoming supplies. External shockwaves are dampened so thoroughly that artillery testing didn't disturb an open container of water inside. The Foundation keeps it locked away and restricts its use to exceptional circumstances. O5 command can deploy it to prevent a destructive event, with a dedicated generator, spare fuel, and personnel standing by. The neon tubing can be replaced, and the effect works even without tubing installed. The important distinction is the activation sequence. An unlit OPEN sign doesn't automatically mean a building is protected. Original entry: https://t.co/i8fyZ7UuaA By regedit. CC BY-SA 3.0: https://t.co/TI86Yhe2FC
