SCP-137 can turn a toy into the real thing. The catch is that it follows a child's idea of what that thing should be. The entity possesses toys, taking on the size, shape, and physical properties of whatever they represent. A toy gun can fire real bullets. A soldier becomes an armed man. A stuffed animal can become a dangerous living animal. The observed possession range is 250 meters, but containment uses a 500-meter exclusion zone for safety. It currently inhabits a princess doll. The Foundation keeps it in a locked room with a hairbrush, meadow posters, and three meals a day. No other toys are allowed nearby. Interviewing this form produces cheerful statements about being a princess, living in a castle, and looking for a prince, not explanations of the entity itself. The experiment log makes the limits clearer. A toy jet becomes a full-sized F-16 and tries to take off indoors. A racecar becomes a Ferrari and crashes into a wall. In both cases, the wreckage turns back into plastic and the entity's previous form reanimates. Even a small accessory counts. An alligator key-chain fob produces a six-meter saltwater crocodile, killing fourteen people. Personnel consequently have to be searched for toys and toy-like items. A stuffed panda also proves unsafe: its hug breaks a researcher's ribs. Not every transformation creates a person, animal, or vehicle. Construction bricks cycle through different building materials, while a yo-yo stays a yo-yo but moves and performs tricks by itself. The most useful test of its intelligence involves an action figure advertised as the smartest man on Earth. The resulting man repeatedly claims extraordinary intellect but cannot answer scientific or mathematical questions. SCP-137 reproduces the role, not the knowledge behind it. There is no demonstrated capacity for learning, abstract thought, or long-term memory, even when its chosen toy represents someone who should have all three.
