SCP-135 never moves. Everything growing around her is another matter. She is a human female permanently curled into the fetal position, with an anomalous effect extending 2.25 meters from her body. Within that area, cells grow rapidly and uncontrollably. Animal tissue develops cancer, while plants and fungi develop malignant growths. The closer the tissue gets, the more severe and disorganized the growth becomes. Inside ten centimeters, there is a second problem: cells stop dying even under conditions that would normally kill them. That includes her own cells. Plants, fungi, and microorganisms continually accumulate around her, while her body remains alive despite extensive internal damage. She has no normal outer layer of skin, and growth has spread into her chest and abdomen. Plastic drainage tubes remove excess biological material. Containment is partly a cleaning operation. Remote-controlled robots handle samples and maintenance because personnel cannot enter the affected radius. Her sealed central compartment has a runoff trench, collected waste is incinerated weekly, and a chemical wash strips away excess growth. Flamethrowers are available for emergency mass reduction. Five separately sealed vats occupy the surrounding chamber, and SCP-329 and SCP-427 cannot be housed at the same facility because of cross-contamination concerns. The recovery story explains why those precautions matter. A ball of growth containing SCP-135 rolled off a mountain cliff and killed a hiker. Inside it, investigators found part of her mother's skeleton. Everyone involved in retrieval and initial testing subsequently developed cancer. Attempts to kill SCP-135 failed. Further attempts were prohibited because the Foundation saw potential in cultivating useful bacteria around her. EEG readings confirm full brain activity, yet the file expressly forbids attempts to communicate with her. The procedures explain how to manage the growth and exploit its effects. They leave the person at its center unheard. Based on SCP-135 by "Pig_catapult", SCP Wiki.
