Wonderland's Ebony Blade is also called the Death Blade. Those are two names for the same artifact. It is the legendary knife associated with killing the Jabberwocky, and that history is why its return matters so much. By Wonderland #19, Calie and Violet have located it. A weapon with that reputation changes the calculations of people who are otherwise used to terrifying everyone around them. The conflict over it spreads beyond a single fight. The four queens' competition turns possession of the blade into a struggle over power within Wonderland itself. Whoever has it becomes someone the other factions have to take seriously. Its significance comes from a specific history in this version of Wonderland. It shouldn't automatically inherit every ability associated with a weapon called an Ebony Blade in some other comic universe. It also raises a different question from the En Passant. The blade is feared for what it can do to a target. The En Passant is sought because the Terror first needs to be made vulnerable to being contained at all.
