SCP-131 is two little creatures that will follow you around because they like you. Unfortunately, liking someone who works for the Foundation is a pretty good way to end up somewhere dangerous. The Eye Pods are orange and yellow, about a foot tall, with one blue eye apiece and wheel-like bases. They're fast, climb walls, and have no brakes. They've also gotten lost in the vents. They don't eat or sleep, and no one has observed them blinking. They roam Site-19, with restricted areas and exits off-limits. Staff check their whereabouts hourly, and losing track of them triggers a lockdown. Affection makes them attach themselves to people. They try to warn those people of nearby danger by circling their feet and babbling. Staff are discouraged from forming those bonds because the creatures can distract them or get hurt themselves. Their best-known incident involves SCP-173. They followed cleaners inside, watched it throughout the cleaning, then backed out without looking away. Using them as wardens is only being considered, not established practice. The suggestion that visual stimulation sustains them is also unconfirmed. The cleaning incident works without a dramatic rescue. The creatures recognize a danger, stay beside the people exposed to it, and make sure they don't look away while leaving. Their friendliness also explains why the restrictions matter. Following someone everywhere is harmless until that person's job takes them into a containment chamber. The staff's affection can put the creatures at risk just as easily as the creatures' interference can endanger the staff. Based on SCP-131 by Unknown Author, SCP Wiki.
