SCP-127 is a living submachine gun that grows its own ammunition. Switching between its firing modes produces an audible groan.
It resembles an MP5K-PDW externally, but everything inside the steel and polymer shell is organic. Its projectiles look like human teeth, though their DNA matches no known species. A supply usually lasts about sixty shots, followed by three to five days of regrowth. The magazine cannot be removed.
The Foundation keeps it in a weapons locker, submerged in water containing calcium and protein. Only its assigned research team has access. No reproductive organs have been detected, and it appears unable to reproduce. Its current classification is Safe, with the immediate danger considered comparable to an ordinary firearm of its type.
The discovery follows a gun collector's death from a heart attack. Authorities inventory his collection, testing reveals the anomaly, and Foundation agents recover it. The file reports no unusual circumstances behind the death and provides no established origin for the weapon.
The small amount of information leaves an important distinction intact: being alive doesn't automatically establish intelligence, suffering or intent. The groan suggests questions without answering them. What would ordinarily be equipment maintenance also involves sustaining an organism, but the article never turns that uncertainty into a confirmed personality. Even the discovery stays mundane rather than making the owner's death part of an unsupported conspiracy.
