SCP-126 is an invisible, intangible presence that can hold a conversation. The danger is that some people stop wanting to do anything else. It speaks in a female voice and produces footsteps like someone wearing heels, without pressure readings or marks. Objects pass through its location, yet a closed door stops it. Acoustic sensors track it, and firm, polite requests usually bring it back to containment. It discusses art, nature and philosophy, switches languages, and becomes confused by questions about its own origin. Furniture helps it remain settled despite serving no apparent physical need. Research notes describe a fear of spiders, a desire to help, and an interest in having children. A minority of conversational partners develop abnormal attachment. They may believe they have known it for years and neglect food and water to keep talking, eventually dying if untreated. Staff undergo psychiatric screening; those becoming attached receive amnestics and reassignment. The entity is classified Euclid. The difficult boundary here is between ordinary companionship and an anomalous relationship. Familiarity usually comes with a shared history. This effect can supply the feeling without the years that would normally support it. Meanwhile, the file doesn't establish deliberate manipulation by SCP-126. Its cooperative behavior and the harm associated with contact coexist, leaving containment to manage a dangerous interaction rather than a clearly hostile opponent.
