SCP-125 is a black dot that can move between reflective surfaces. Your eyes count.
Normally it appears as a circle 17.2 millimeters across, perfectly round from every viewing angle. It travels across suitable surfaces and jumps into other surfaces reflecting it. Scratches and nonreflective patches block its movement, but another reflection can provide a detour. Its possible hosts include polished wood, glossy plastic, still liquid and polished nails, not just mirrors.
On a living cornea, it shrinks to a tenth of its normal diameter and gains the ability to reproduce. Infestation causes blindness within five to nine days, followed by destruction of tissue in the eye and optic nerve. No effective cure is known. Covering affected eyes limits spread; antibiotics address secondary infection risk rather than removing the anomaly.
The Euclid-class entity is held on mesh-covered metallic supports. Personnel wear protective facial mesh, reflective objects are restricted, and the room stays dark between experiments. It responds to threats, including spoken ones. Outbreaks still occur outside containment.
The distinctive containment problem is that reflectivity cuts across ordinary object categories. Removing a mirror doesn't remove every possible route. A harmless-looking personal item can share the exact property that makes the main containment surface useful to the entity. The same rule connects the room, the equipment and the person observing it.
