DREAM EATER SAGA
Spoiler warning: I’m sticking to the setup and reading order here. No ending reveals, later Wonderland spoilers, or Grimm Fairy Tales Volume 2 spoilers.
Dream Eater is where the different corners of the Grimm Universe have to deal with the same crisis. Characters from the main book, Wonderland, Neverland, Sinbad, Salem's Daughter and Inferno all have a part in it. The reason the reading order matters is simple: some of those books contain the next chapter, not an optional side adventure. The original Zenescope announcement and solicitations identify it as a crossover. [Zenescope's launch solicitation](https://t.co/aZ3VsrHbfp)
WHAT CHANGES
The main series has already been building a continuing fantasy story. This event makes the wider cast part of that story. Familiar enemies and heroes have a shared threat, and changing titles does not reset the plot. A chapter called Wonderland or Inferno still belongs in the numbered event sequence.
The useful preparation is the original GFT through #62, plus Myths & Legends #1–5 if you have not read that branch. If you have already read the main book, use this to fill in the crossover rather than restarting from issue #1.
READ ORDER: THE TRADE ROUTE
1. Finish the original GFT through #62.
2. Read Dream Eater Saga Volume 1, covering event #0–6.
3. Read Dream Eater Saga Volume 2, covering event #7–12.
4. Resume GFT with #65.
The two trades include the crossover chapters from the other ongoing series. [Dream Eater collected editions](https://t.co/fkD3QWaupr)
READ ORDER: EXACT CHAPTER MAP
These are the required event chapters, in order. The number on the left below is the event part, not always the issue number printed under the original series title.
0. Dream Eater Saga #0: Prologue.
1. Dream Eater Saga #1: Once Upon a Time.
2. Dream Eater Saga #2: The Piper.
3. Myths & Legends #6.
4. Dream Eater Saga: Wonderland one-shot.
5. Dream Eater Saga: Neverland one-shot.
6. Dream Eater Saga: Salem's Daughter one-shot.
7. Myths & Legends #7.
8. Dream Eater Saga: Sinbad one-shot.
9. Grimm Fairy Tales #63.
10. Grimm Fairy Tales #64.
11. Dream Eater Saga: Inferno one-shot.
12. Dream Eater Saga: Ever After.
The crossover part number is the thing to follow when the series title changes. [Issue map](https://t.co/f2HJRLmjN7), [Myths & Legends #7](https://t.co/gFmydkX1Y4)
OPTIONAL PREPARATION
The earlier Piper #1–4, Inferno #1–5, Salem's Daughter #0–5, Neverland #0–7 and Sinbad #0–13 introduce their own casts. Read them before the event if those characters are the reason you are here. They are not extra Dream Eater chapters.
There is also a separate three-part Sinbad crossover: 2011 Annual → Giant-Size 2011 → 2011 Special Edition. Keep those three together. I’d use them as background before Dream Eater. They were published during and after the event, so reading them afterward as a look back also works. Do not substitute that three-parter for Dream Eater part 8. DUPLICATES AND TITLE TRAPS
• Reading both Dream Eater trades already covers Myths & Legends #6–7 and GFT #63–64. Do not add those again as if they were new chapters.
• The ordinary Inferno miniseries and the Dream Eater: Inferno one-shot are different stories. The same warning applies to the Piper and Sinbad titles.
• House of Liddle and Different Seasons are separate collections. They are not required Dream Eater chapters.
• Choose the event singles or the two trades. Reading both repeats the same story.
The clean stopping point is Ever After. Then return to GFT #65. Do not jump from #64 straight into #65 when you are reading the crossover for the first time.
