12/14 The mutant Brood in that story show how bad the combination can get. The group has abilities involving destructive energy, restraint, and manipulation, so the X-Men can't treat them all as interchangeable opponents. Temptress is especially dangerous because her pheromones can influence people. Rogue and Psylocke fall under that influence, which turns the team's own abilities against it without those characters needing to become Brood themselves. That's another distinction worth making. Being controlled and being implanted are different things, even when the Brood are trying to do both. They can use one person to help capture another and build the situation from there. The team has to recognize who is acting under outside influence while still stopping the immediate danger. With the Brood, someone fighting beside you a minute ago can become part of the problem you have to survive next.
