10/14

10/14 And even after all of that, the Brood still have something waiting back on Earth. Professor Xavier is carrying a royal embryo. In Uncanny X-Men #167, he transforms into a Brood Queen, and that Queen has access to his telepathy. Think about how dangerous Xavier already is when someone loses control of those powers. Now the X-Men have to fight a Brood using them, with the New Mutants right there too. Charles is still present enough inside that transformed body for the team to realize he might be saved. Moira and Sikorsky use a cloned body to preserve him by transferring his mind. That is another major consequence of the Brood's attack. They get into the professor himself and threaten the home the X-Men are trying to return to. Coming back from space doesn't automatically put anyone out of reach of what happened there.
