4/12 Then there's the Genegineer, David Moreau. The Magistrates bring people in, and his work determines what the state is going to make out of them. The term “mutate” in this story refers to people who have been put through Genosha's processing. They're stripped of their independence and altered so their abilities serve the government's needs. The system reduces a person to whatever useful work can be extracted from them. Jenny makes that especially clear. She had been a nurse, and she wants to know whether she can at least continue being a healer. Moreau has other plans for her powers. Even that much say in her own life is taken away. Think about how invasive that is. They don't just decide where someone has to work. They decide what that person's body and powers are going to be used for.
