15/ By New Mutants #50, even her control of Limbo is falling apart. S'ym and the demons have been changed by the Magus, and they're rebelling against her. There's a chance for Limbo to be restored while the Soulsword remains planted in the ground. But Illyana takes it up again to protect Xavier, accepting the consequences. Later, she chooses rescuing her friends over immediately pursuing S'ym. Calling her the ruler of Limbo can make it sound like she's got everything handled. She doesn't. She's fighting to hold on to the place, trying to save her teammates, and dealing with power that keeps demanding something from her. She's still a teenager through all of this.
