14/ New Mutants #36 takes it in another direction. The Beyonder offers Illyana freedom from her dark side, but the power and its problems pass to Kitty. Demons are coming through, and Kitty is the one who has to deal with it. Illyana takes that part of herself back to save her. She wants relief from what she's carrying. Of course she does. But when getting that relief puts her best friend in danger, she doesn't just leave Kitty with it. That's a useful example of why I find her so interesting. Her choices keep showing you how much she cares, even when she has every reason to want an easier life for herself. [New Mutants #36](https://t.co/Z5W7txukiS)
