7/ The Soulsword is a huge part of why I love this character. She creates it from her own life force. Considering how much of her story is about somebody taking control of her soul, that matters. This weapon comes out of Illyana herself, and she uses it to fight back. There's something very specific about that sword belonging to her. You can't explain it as a weapon she happened to pick up along the way. Her history is built into it. And watching her use it alongside the stepping discs gives her a fighting style that's completely her own. She can change where the fight is happening, strike through magic, and face creatures the other kids aren't equipped to deal with in the same way.
