2/ She starts out so far away from all of that. In Giant-Size X-Men #1, Illyana is Piotr's little sister back home in the Soviet Union. When she's in danger from a runaway tractor, he uses his armored form to save her. Before she's a sorceress or a member of the New Mutants, she's the little girl whose brother can turn into metal. That relationship stays important. Piotr has this protective connection to her, and you can understand why. But eventually she's been through things he never saw and couldn't stop. He's still her older brother. That doesn't mean he knows everything about her anymore. [Origin issue: Giant-Size X-Men #1](https://t.co/qmDp1QtwT2) · [Scene synopsis](https://t.co/iIVGdLi6N7)
