Rachel eventually decides Selene needs to die. Their fight in Uncanny X-Men #207 brings Nicholas Damiano's death back into it. Selene even remembers his name, then uses Rachel's failure to remember it to taunt her. Remembering the people she's killed clearly hasn't stopped her from killing them.
Rachel gets the upper hand and is ready to finish it. Wolverine intervenes because he sees what she's about to do as an execution. Rachel refuses to back down, and Logan stabs her to stop her.
That is an extreme way for the confrontation to end. Selene survives because the two X-Men turn against each other over whether Rachel should kill her. None of it means Selene has been cleared of anything. Nicholas is still dead. Her other victims are still victims.
It leaves Rachel badly wounded, Selene alive, and the X-Men with consequences that go well beyond the original fight. Selene's actions have now contributed to a serious fracture among the people trying to stop her.
