3/9 When Selene reaches New York, Rachel Summers becomes another target. In Uncanny X-Men #184, Rachel is already trying to survive in a time that isn't her own, and Selene pursues her. Nicholas Damiano, who helps Rachel, is killed by Selene. The X-Men become involved, but getting Rachel away from her doesn't undo that death. Selene's powers make that pursuit dangerous in several ways. She can drain a person's life, but she can also turn the surroundings against them. Ordinary material can become a weapon or something that traps you. Keeping out of her immediate reach doesn't automatically make you safe. There's a reason Rachel's later confrontation with her gets so personal. Rachel has seen someone die at her hands. Selene isn't an abstract enemy she's heard stories about. She's somebody who hunted her and killed a person who tried to help. That also gives Rachel and Amara something in common. Both know what Selene does to people, and both have unfinished business with her. [Story reference: Uncanny X-Men #184](https://t.co/ROK6lSdQKw)
