13/15 Wolverine and Jubilee are involved in getting her out. When she tries to use her psychic blade on Wolverine as part of breaking him for the Hand, the connection doesn't work the way her handlers want. His own fractured mental state complicates things, and her identity starts coming back through that struggle. She ultimately helps turn things against the Mandarin instead of remaining his weapon. So she comes out of this as Betsy again, but with the physical change and a very different way of fighting. And this is where my preference really shows. I understand why somebody would love the new version. I'm not saying she becomes a bad character. I just liked the earlier Betsy more. Her interactions, her combat style, the way she carried herself. To me, reading the two versions feels like a much bigger change than a new outfit. I'd already put the time into following the earlier character. I wanted to see more of her. (Uncanny X-Men #258.)
