6/15 And then Mojo and Spiral get involved, because apparently she hasn't been through enough already. They abduct her and give her artificial eyes. But this isn't somebody helping her recover out of kindness. They turn her into part of Mojo's Wildways operation, with children being drawn into it and Betsy's mind being manipulated. Spiral is right in the middle of what is happening inside her head. Brian and the New Mutants get involved in rescuing her, and Doug Ramsey and Warlock are crucial to restoring her mind. Afterward, she keeps the eyes and stays at Xavier's school. The name Psylocke comes out of this period, before the Hand transformation. So when I talk about preferring the original Psylocke, this is already a character with changes forced on her. She isn't untouched or inexperienced. She has her own history with somebody deciding what her mind and body are going to be used for. (New Mutants Annual #2.)
