2/15

2/15 Betsy starts out in the Captain Britain stories, with a whole life before the X-Men. She's Elizabeth Braddock, Brian's twin sister, with Jamie as their older brother. Their family history gets into Braddock Manor, their father's connection to Otherworld, and all the strange things surrounding Brian becoming Captain Britain. She was a charter pilot before the modeling career, and her early psychic abilities included premonitions. The Dr. Synne trouble puts her mind under attack long before Mojo or the Hand ever get involved. Her telepathy develops, and eventually she's working in intelligence. That's a lot of ground to cover before the purple-haired woman at Xavier's school. Her history is spread across those British stories, and I wanted that part too. I didn't want to know her only as Brian's sister or as somebody who suddenly appeared in an X-Men book. (Captain Britain #8 onward; The Daredevils #3.)
