SCP-121 is a Colorado town where buildings float into the air, fall apart, and leave something moving in the wreckage.
The buildings lock themselves up and rise at least 45 meters. When they eventually crash, there's an egg-shaped object made from their furnishings inside. It collects debris and other material until it has a body about nine meters tall.
Some look like animals. Others look human or don't resemble anything recognizable. Most aren't aggressive unless provoked, but collecting certain objects can change that. Weapons make a kind of sense. A taxidermy bear's head making one aggressive is considerably harder to explain.
The file doesn't give us an answer for why that happens.
It also doesn't explain the siren-like sound that tore one floating building apart early. Then a Dodge Caravan turns up floating too, with its windows covered by something resembling wool. So watching the buildings isn't even enough anymore.
The Foundation evacuated the town and lets the harmless creatures remain for research. Once they become hostile or too big to contain safely, they're destroyed.
There used to be people living there. Now the contents of their homes are walking around, gathering more pieces of the neighborhood. Even a completely docile one would be pretty fucking unsettling to stand next to.
