Illyana brings that problem much closer to home. In #160, she disappears into Limbo and comes back years older, even though almost no time has passed for the people trying to rescue her. Piotr has missed years of his little sister's life. Worse, those years happened under Belasco, in a place he couldn't get into and fix for her. As Illyana becomes Magik, he has to deal with things he doesn't understand about someone he loves. The sorcery, the demonic changes and the things she keeps from him aren't problems he can solve by picking up the person responsible and throwing them through a wall. It gets worse after Dallas. Piotr is alive, but Illyana believes he's dead. In #231, she summons him into another crisis and thinks she's seeing his spirit. He can comfort her and help her fight, but the team's decision to remain hidden keeps him from simply giving her the truth. She's already lost enough, and he's standing there knowing she believes she's lost him too.
