Read the original post on X

After reading Weapon X, there's another reason this pairing works. Logan has been subjected to people messing with his body, his perceptions and his ability to choose. They wanted to produce behavior they could use. Ogun does something comparable to Kitty, even though the methods and circumstances are different. He wants a person who will act according to his wishes. Training her to hurt people is part of that ownership. Logan is trying to get her to a point where she can refuse the person who did this to her. That includes refusing to kill a helpless enemy, even when she's furious and has good reason to want revenge. I wouldn't turn that into a claim that he consciously bases every lesson on Weapon X. The comparison comes from reading the two stories together. You can see what happens when somebody gains power over another person's mind, then see Logan trying to help a kid live without that person's commands deciding everything.
