In #3, Yukio gets Logan onto the train tracks and waits until the train is almost on them. He barely gets them clear. She's enjoying the danger. He's drunk enough that he takes too long to figure out what's happening. Later, he finds his friend Asano dead, with one of Yukio's knives in him. The poison connects her to the attack on Logan at the start. He finally understands how much she has kept from him. His pursuit of her ends with the Hand attacking and a garden wrecked by the fighting. Logan looks at the damage and recognizes something familiar about his own life. He has spent this stretch drinking, fighting and trying to stop caring. It hasn't made him happier or put anybody out of Shingen's reach. By now another friend is dead, and Logan has to decide what he's actually going to do about it.
