Patch knows the place, knows the people and can point him toward trouble that is useful to him. By #8, Logan is getting a lot done by letting the much bigger man act on the information he's given him. There is still plenty of damage, but the advantage Logan has is knowing what Joe doesn't. He understands who owns what and which direction to send him. The whole visit also gives him opportunities to mess with Joe, including the flight home and its approaching sunrise.
