Wolverine #10 gets into another part of it: what this guy has done to Logan personally. The story is called "24 Hours." Logan is in Madripoor as Patch, trying to get through his birthday while remembering an earlier one involving Silver Fox and Sabretooth. That gives Creed something much nastier to work with than just showing up for another fight. Logan already knows the date is going to be bad before anything happens. He's carrying around the memory, and Sabretooth has made sure there's a reason to keep expecting him.
