Roberto isn't with the others when the Beyonder kills them in New Mutants #37. He's in Manhattan, where a fallen crane has trapped a woman. He tries to lift it, She-Hulk helps finish the rescue, and the attention goes to her. Bobby is left feeling as though he didn't accomplish anything. A police officer tells him otherwise: his intervention kept the crane from falling farther. He helped save lives, even if he didn't get the big public moment. Then the Beyonder's erasure makes Bobby forget his teammates existed. It's worth keeping that distinction straight. Bobby doesn't share the others' death in that issue. His separate story is about helping people and learning that doing something useful can matter even when nobody points a camera at him afterward.
