After the Siege Perilous, Alison turns up in the Hollywood stories in #259–260 with her memory gone. Guido finds her, and she gets pulled back toward the entertainment world and people connected with her earlier attempt to make a movie. So she doesn't get a clean restart with all her experience available to help her. She has people from her old life approaching her while she's missing the context to understand what those connections mean. While the X-Men are coming back together, Alison is still away from them. She hasn't simply picked up where she and Longshot left off either. Her history up to here has a lot of starts and stops. She keeps trying to build a career, gets pulled into somebody else's fight, becomes a committed member of the X-Men, and then loses access to her own memories. There's a lot more to Alison than showing up in a silver outfit and making lights.
